Possible limitations on maximum docking station resolution and recommended solutions
If you’re using an Intel-based laptop, it’s possible that installing some of the current drivers for your laptop (especially the internal graphics card driver) may cause the maximum resolution of the external display offered by the HDMI port of your dock to change from 4K to 1920×1080 (Full HD). This potential issue may affect docking stations with the following product numbers: C31NANODOCKPD, C31NANODOCKLANPD, C31NANODOCKVGAPD (C31NANOVGA112W, C31NANOVGA77W). The product code can be found on the bottom of your docking station.
There are two relatively easy ways to solve this problem: either by updating your laptop’s video driver, or by updating the dock firmware, which can also solve this problem with Intel drivers.
* This installation requires a USB cable with a USB-A connector on one side and a USB-C connector on the other – this cable is not included with the dock.
