FAQ
Question: I have connected the adapter to the docking station and connected it via HDMI to the monitor but the connected monitor does not light up.
A: This adapter is Passive, which means it must be connected to a DP++ capable device.
Some docking stations and graphics cards do not support this protocol.
Question: I have connected the adapter to a desktop PC where I can achieve resolutions up to 3840×2160 at 30Hz. However, when I plug the same adapter into a USB-C docking station I get a maximum resolution of 1920×1080 60Hz.
A: Due to the DP++ protocol, this adapter can behave differently when connected to devices running on other display technologies, see. Below.
DisplayPort with ThunderboltTM interface: the adapter will allow a maximum resolution of 4K/30Hz
DisplayPort with DisplayLink: the adapter allows a maximum resolution of 4K/30 Hz.
DisplayPort with USB-C: the adapter enables maximum FHD/60 Hz resolution.
Resolution and refresh rates may also be affected by the quality and performance of the connected monitor.
